Hester St.

We went to the first opening day for Hester St fair this weekend. Usually, at regular street fair, I'd look at random soaps, eat unnecessary amount of unwanted food like chocolate apple, and feel bad afterwards. But this time, it was different ! Actually many great shops w/ delicious foods. BTW, we ran into Karla Laricks, our fav designer from Fashion Star and wished her luck. She was cute!

It was a gorgeous day!

Cool engraving for T-shirts

FASHION WEEK AT HOME DEPOT

E.L. took me to Home Depot today b/c he wanted to work on his garden.  I was overwhelmingly bored with sea of the foreign objects like chainsaws and electrical codes.  Then, when we entered the gardening area, I was surprisingly welcomed by many, many beautiful colors that reminded me of the past collections.

HENRI BENDEL WINDOW-APRIL 12

I am always amazed how creative Henri Bendel's windows are.  This April, HB shows its most focused merchandise; necklaces, on the whole another level.

Venus in the helmet! And it's HB helmet! How clever. How come I never thought of that?

DEJA VU-SUMMER GIVENCHY

Last winter, I bought a pair of black Givenchy booties and wore everywhere. Sir. Bill Cunningham took a picture of me running around 5th avenue with them too.
Now I see the summer-version of the shoes and can hardly resist. On Net-a-porter, it shows gurl wearing them w pants and, the way the ankle strap shows between pants and shoes drives me nuts. I know it will hurt like a hell but that never stopped me before.

TODAY'S LOOK-WEEKDAY

It was another hot day today so I decided to ditch the coat/jacket. The mad men we watched a few nights ago was still on my mind so I wore below-knee-length navy no-brand skirt with Suno sweater.  Love the detail around neck on this sweater and everyone complements me on it. Unbalance the innocence of Suno with gangsta Gucci sneak skin open toe.  Always love the unexpected ending.

PUSHING THE LIMIT

Last week,  WSJ wrote that at Sergio Rossi, highest heel he ever constructed is 4.1 inches because  it's about as high as most women's feet can manage. With slight relief, I tweeted about it and received a response back rom Mr. Rossi "aren't you glad?"

Now king of gothic-couture, Riccardo Tiscci, aka Mr, Givenchy, is challenging the max. He is introducing 5 inch heel with ankle strap!!!  I A M -E L E C T R O F I E D. Of course, as usual, forget walking or being functional at all, like smiling. Just looking hot and that's all these are for.

THAKOON FLOWER JACKET

I received my daily dose of temptation from Barney's today.
OMG-Thakoon jacket look gorgeous!  But when I went to their website., it wasn't there.
Does anyone know how to get it?
I love this jacket so much...it speaks to me! Of course I also love Altuzarra's spring flower jacket too but then too many people are wearing it.

RAF SIMONS @DIOR

Today, announcement from Christian Dior flooded Internet that they finally ended over a year long searching of the successor, John Galiano.
When I heard the news, my first reaction was joy! As I posted before, I admire Mr. Simons' remarkable talent and did not understand at all why he was ousted (OK, I guess I can see why it happened but didn't think it was a logical choice). Christian Dior is a prestige's fashion house with 1.3 billion dollars in revenue world wide. Mr. Simons' impeccable talent will be surely get tested but expanded there if it all goes well.
Then his minimalist and neon-color collection came to my mind. How will his creativity fit into Dior's couture and classic collection?  Can City gurl be blended with lady-who-lunch? Or can we find gurl in the lady's body somewhere?
Either way, I just can't wait to see his first important collection.

YUMI KIM STORE

Today, when I passed by Yumi Kim's store in Upper east side, I couldn't help noticing the beautiful spring clothes in the window.
Style is Yumi's signature laid-back-VK stye but the colors are definitely hot in NYC.
Love them!

My Fab Fabric Tour part I

My friend, Jennifer, took me to the Fab Fabric Tour today and we had so much fun!
First she took me to the leather heaven, Global Leathers on 35th st.
OMG. Bravo! As soon as we come in, the smell of leather wrapped us around....mmmm!!!
H E A V E N!!  Can I live here? You know how people say things like " Love smell of new car"? Well leather smell is the only smell I care for. Actually reminds me of my child hood...
Then we found fur...
Touch! Color! Smoothness! Where have you been all these time???

We barely had time to go through all the fantastic leather and fur...everyone there was super friendly too. I literally wanted everything. Just get naked and sleep between leathers and furs; which gurl hasn't dreamed of that yet?

Next, non-fur/non-leather fabric...

TOMATO DRESS

As usual, Bergdorf tempted me to look for something I didn't know I wanted before: dress w/ tomatoes.

Besides the price tag of $12K, what's banana about this dress is that with sense of urgency, all of sudden, tomato is the sexy object.
So with the hands of genius, Messrs.Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana, everything is seductive; including daily market. And that beautiful blue lace with texture: that may mean the leaf around tomato-but blue works better than green. Their window is just a tease of what's the collection is all about: they talk the talk and walk the walk.
